Mighty K9 Serving Size: How Much Should I Give My Dog?

Quick answer

The label lists one 2 mL serving, with 30 servings per bottle, and the sales FAQ says once daily in food. No weight-based chart is printed on the panel we have. The sales page links to a serving calculator by weight. For toy and small dogs, puppies or dogs with health issues, check that calculator and ask your vet first.

The label

How much Mighty K9 should I give my dog?

Start from the label: one serving is 2 mL, and a bottle holds 30 of them. The sales FAQ adds that the serving goes into food once a day.

The Guaranteed Analysis panel gives every number per 2 mL serving. It does not split the serving by body weight, and it prints no age limits or directions. So there is no printed answer to "how much for a 10 lb dog" on the label images we have.

The sales page links to a serving calculator by dog weight. We could not read its results, so we do not repeat or guess them. Use it, then check the result with your vet.

Per serving

What is in one 2 mL serving of Mighty K9?

One serving holds 1.6 mg of ESS60 in olive oil and supplies 16.2 calories. Everything else on the panel follows from those two numbers.

Calories by size

How many calories does a Mighty K9 serving add for my dog's size?

One serving is the same 16.2 calories for every dog. For a small dog, that is a much bigger slice of the day.

A 30 kg (66 lb) dog barely notices 16.2 calories, but a 3 kg (7 lb) dog gets about a tenth of its resting needs from one serving. Vets use a simple formula for resting needs, and the bars below apply it (Carlson, Today's Veterinary Nurse, 2023).

0%10% limit for extras (Tufts Your Dog, n.d.)

  • Toy dog, 3 kg (7 lb)

    10.2%
Serving16.2 of about 160 kcal at rest
  • Small dog, 5 kg (11 lb)

    6.9%
Serving16.2 of about 234 kcal at rest
  • Medium dog, 10 kg (22 lb)

    4.1%
Serving16.2 of about 394 kcal at rest
  • Large dog, 20 kg (44 lb)

    2.4%
Serving16.2 of about 662 kcal at rest
  • Giant dog, 30 kg (66 lb)

    1.8%
Serving16.2 of about 897 kcal at rest

Our arithmetic: the label's 16.2 kcal per 2 mL serving divided by resting energy needs, RER = 70 x kg0.75 (Carlson, Today's Veterinary Nurse, 2023). The bar is drawn against the 10% guide for extras. Active dogs burn more than resting needs, so the real share is a little smaller. Treats, chews and other toppers count toward the same 10%.

Small dogs

Is the full 2 mL serving too much for a small dog?

It may be, on calories alone. Tufts veterinary nutrition writers advise that treats and extras stay at or under 10% of daily calories (Tufts Your Dog, n.d.). For a toy dog, one Mighty K9 serving can fill that whole allowance by itself.

  • Add up every extra: chews, training treats, table bites and the oil.
  • If the total passes 10%, cut treats or ask your vet about a smaller amount.
  • Do not trim the main meal by guesswork. Your vet can rebalance it properly.
  • Weigh your dog every few weeks; small dogs gain fat fast.

Weight matters for joints. In a lifelong study of Labradors, the lean-fed group showed hip arthritis at age 10 far less often than their littermates, 42% versus 79% (Penn Today, 2002). Extra calories work against that. Our guide to weight and joint health in dogs goes deeper.

ESS60 by size

How much ESS60 does my dog get per kilogram?

Far less per kilogram than the rats got in the best-known C60 study, at every dog size. That study gave 1.7 mg per kg on a tapering schedule to 6 rats per group (Baati et al., 2012).

  • Toy dog, 3 kg

    0.53 mg/kg
One serving31% of the rat-study dose
    Rat study1.7 mg/kg
  • Small dog, 5 kg

    0.32 mg/kg
One serving19% of the rat-study dose
    Rat study1.7 mg/kg
  • Medium dog, 10 kg

    0.16 mg/kg
One serving9% of the rat-study dose
    Rat study1.7 mg/kg
  • Large dog, 20 kg

    0.08 mg/kg
One serving5% of the rat-study dose
    Rat study1.7 mg/kg
  • Giant dog, 30 kg

    0.05 mg/kg
One serving3% of the rat-study dose
    Rat study1.7 mg/kg

Our arithmetic: 1.6 mg of ESS60 per 2 mL serving divided by body weight, next to the 1.7 mg/kg dose in the 6-rats-per-group study (Baati et al., 2012). Rats got that dose on a tapering schedule, not every day for life. A dose that worked in rats is not a dose for dogs, so do not give more than the label serving unless your veterinarian says so.

These bars are context, not a target. Nobody has worked out an effective or safe ESS60 amount for dogs, and a rat dose cannot be scaled to a dog. A larger mouse study found no lifespan benefit from C60 in olive oil (Grohn et al., 2021). More is not better here. Read about the ingredient on our ESS60 page.

Why no chart

Why is there no Mighty K9 dosing chart by weight on this site?

Because the label images we have do not print one, and we will not invent one. A made-up chart would look official and could lead an owner to overfeed fat to a small dog.

What we can say for sure

The label lists 2 mL per serving and 30 servings per bottle. The sales FAQ says once daily, mixed into food. The sales page also mentions "a few drops a day" and a weight calculator. When those sources leave a gap, your veterinarian fills it, not us.

If the physical bottle or box carries directions, follow them. Ask the order desk at +1 (302) 200-3480 if your bottle shows numbers that differ from the panel described here.

Vet visit

What should I ask my vet about the Mighty K9 serving size?

Bring the bottle, or a photo of the panel, and ask four short questions. A vet who knows your dog's weight, diet and medicines can answer in minutes.

  1. Is 2 mL right for my dog's weight?

Ask whether a full serving, a smaller amount or none at all suits your dog's size and age.

  2. Does 16.2 calories fit the diet?

Ask how many daily calories your dog needs and what share should come from extras.

  3. Is extra fat safe for my dog?

Ask about pancreatitis history, a sensitive stomach or a low-fat prescription diet (Steiner, Merck Veterinary Manual, 2025).

  4. Does it clash with current medicine?

List every pill, chew and oil. Never swap a prescribed pain medicine for drops.

Your vet may also score body condition at the same visit, which international guidelines recommend at every appointment (WSAVA, 2011 (ongoing)).

Safety

When should I stop giving Mighty K9?

Stop and call your vet if your dog vomits, has diarrhea, stops eating or seems sore in the belly. Never give a dog human pain relievers for a stiff joint (FDA, n.d. (pain relievers)).

FAQ

Mighty K9 serving size questions

How many mL of Mighty K9 should I give my dog?

The label lists 2 mL as one serving, and the sales FAQ says to give it once a day in food. The panel prints no weight chart. For toy breeds, puppies or dogs with health problems, check the sales-page calculator and confirm the amount with your veterinarian.

How many drops of Mighty K9 should a small dog get?

No drop count by weight is printed on the label images we have. The sales page talks about a few drops a day and links to a weight calculator. Because a full serving can use up a toy dog's whole treat allowance, ask your vet for a specific amount.

Can I give my dog more than one serving of Mighty K9 a day?

Nothing on the label supports more than one serving a day, and more oil means more fat and calories. No study shows that extra ESS60 helps dogs. Stay at or below the label serving unless your veterinarian advises otherwise.

How many calories are in Mighty K9?

Each 2 mL serving has 16.2 kcal, and the label lists 8,100 kcal per kilogram. For a 10 kg (22 lb) dog, that is about 4% of resting calorie needs by our arithmetic. Count it as a treat; treats should stay below 10% of the day's calories.

Does a bigger dog need a bigger Mighty K9 serving?

The label does not say so. It lists one 2 mL serving for every dog. Large dogs get less ESS60 per kilogram than small dogs, but no study has found an effective amount for any size, so a bigger serving is not shown to do more.

Can puppies take Mighty K9?

The label images we have give no age guidance, so ask your veterinarian first. Puppies need carefully balanced calories for growth, and extra fat can upset young stomachs. Many joint problems in dogs start from developmental issues that need a vet exam, not a supplement.

Is half a serving of Mighty K9 enough?

No one knows, because no dose study exists for ESS60 in dogs. A half serving halves the calories, which may suit a toy dog. Agree on any reduced amount with your vet, and keep it steady so you can judge it fairly.
