Mighty K9 Ingredients: What Is in Each 2 mL Serving
Mighty K9 has three ingredients, in label order: Extra Virgin Olive Oil, ESS60 and Bacon Flavor. Each 2 mL serving holds 1.6 mg of ESS60, a C60 carbon molecule. Nearly all the rest is olive oil, so a serving is pure fat with 16.2 calories. It contains no glucosamine, chondroitin or fish oil.

The formula
What is in Mighty K9?
Mighty K9 contains extra virgin olive oil, ESS60 and bacon flavor. That is the full list printed on the label panel.
Ingredients on a pet product label run in order of weight (AAFCO, n.d. (reading labels)). So olive oil makes up most of the bottle. ESS60 comes second at 1.6 mg per 2 mL serving. Bacon flavor comes last, with no amount shown.

A short list means fewer unknowns. The tradeoff: the formula leans on ESS60 alone for its joint claims.

Per serving
How much of each ingredient is in one serving?
Only ESS60 has a printed amount: 1.6 mg per 2 mL serving. The olive oil fills almost all of the rest, which is why the label shows crude fat at 100% (min).
| Ingredient | Label order | Per 2 mL serving | What research tested | Evidence |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| ESS60 | 1 of 3 | 1.6 mg per 2 mL serving | Rats: 1.7 mg/kg (Baati 2012). Mice: no lifespan benefit (Grohn 2021). Dogs: one 9-day study of 6 beagles (Baati et al., 2012) (Grohn et al., 2021) (Burres et al., 2024) (Hui et al., 2023) | Very limited (animal studies, none in arthritic dogs) |
| Extra Virgin Olive Oil | 2 of 3 | Almost all of the 2 mL serving (crude fat 100% min) | No canine joint trials found for olive oil (AAFCO, n.d. (reading labels)) (Steiner, Merck Veterinary Manual, 2025) (Carlson, Today's Veterinary Nurse, 2023) (Tufts Your Dog, n.d.) | No joint evidence in dogs |
| Bacon Flavor | 3 of 3 | Not listed | Not applicable (flavoring) (AAFCO, n.d. (reading labels)) | Not a functional ingredient |
1.6 mg in 2 mL is 0.8 mg per mL. That matches the strength in the 2012 rat study, where each rat got 1.7 mg per kg of body weight (Baati et al., 2012). A dog gets far less per kilogram. A 10 kg (22 lb) dog gets about 0.16 mg per kg from one serving. Our Mighty K9 serving size guide runs the numbers by dog size.
Ingredient 1
Why is olive oil the main ingredient in Mighty K9?
Olive oil carries the C60, which does not dissolve in water. It also supplies all of the calories: 8,100 kcal per kg, or 16.2 per serving.
The front of the bottle says "Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil." The ingredient list just says "Extra Virgin Olive Oil" and no organic certifier is shown. That is worth a question to the order desk if organic matters to you. Full details are on our extra virgin olive oil profile.
| 5 kg (11 lb) dog | About 7% |
|---|---|
| 10 kg (22 lb) dog | About 4% |
| 20 kg (44 lb) dog | About 2.4% |
| 30 kg (66 lb) dog | About 1.8% |
Vets suggest keeping treats and extras to 10% of daily calories (Tufts Your Dog, n.d.).
High-fat foods are a known risk factor for pancreatitis, and dogs that have had it often eat a low-fat diet (Steiner, Merck Veterinary Manual, 2025) (Animal Medical Center, n.d.). Ask your vet before adding pure oil to that dog's bowl.
Ingredient 2
What does ESS60 add to Mighty K9?
ESS60 is the reason the product exists. It is a trademarked form of C60, the round carbon molecule sold as an antioxidant.
The label marks it with an asterisk: "Not recognized as an essential nutrient by the AAFCO Dog Food Nutrient Profiles." In plain words, dogs do not need it the way they need protein or vitamins. That is a fact about nutrition rules, not a safety warning.
The evidence is thin. A small rat study reported longer lifespans; a larger mouse study found no benefit, and light-exposed C60 oil was toxic to mice (Baati et al., 2012) (Grohn et al., 2021). The only dog study used 6 beagles for 9 days, at nearly 100 times the C60 in one serving (Hui et al., 2023). More on our ESS60 page.

What is the bacon flavor in Mighty K9 made from?
The label does not say. It lists "Bacon Flavor" with no source and no amount.
Under pet-food labeling rules, a flavor name is allowed when a listed ingredient supplies that flavor (AAFCO, n.d. (reading labels)). For picky eaters, it helps the oil go down.
If your dog has a pork or meat allergy, call the order desk at +1 (302) 200-3480 and ask what the flavor is made from before you buy. Our bacon flavor profile has more.

What is not in Mighty K9?
Mighty K9 has no glucosamine, chondroitin, fish oil, green-lipped mussel or added vitamins. Many dog joint products are built on those.

- 2Extra virgin olive oilExtra Virgin Olive Oil · Almost all of the 2 mL serving (crude fat 100% min)
- 3Bacon flavorBacon Flavor · Not listed
Not in the bottle
- Glucosamine or chondroitin
- Fish oil (EPA and DHA)
- Green-lipped mussel
- Turmeric or MSM
- Added vitamins or minerals
Ingredients are listed by weight. Common joint ingredients are listed only so you can compare products; their absence is not a flaw by itself.
Missing ingredients only matter if they work. Glucosamine and chondroitin evidence in dogs is weak or negative (Barbeau-Gregoire et al., 2022) (Bhathal et al., 2017). Omega-3 fish oil (EPA and DHA) is the one supplement type with reasonable support (Vandeweerd et al., 2012). Olive oil is not a meaningful source of EPA or DHA.
Fair verdict
Is the Mighty K9 formula any good?

- Bacon flavor helps it go down
Cons
- No dog study of ESS60 or this formula for joints
- Pure fat: 16.2 calories every serving
- Bacon flavor source and ESS60 maker not named
- No published lab report for the batch
Bottom line
Mighty K9 ingredients in one line
Mighty K9 is bacon-flavored olive oil carrying 1.6 mg of C60 per serving. The label is short and honest about what is inside. The science behind its star ingredient is not yet strong enough to promise anything for your dog's joints.
FAQ
Mighty K9 ingredients: common questions
What are the ingredients in Mighty K9?
Three ingredients are listed for Mighty K9: extra virgin olive oil, ESS60 and bacon flavor. Each 2 mL serving contains 1.6 mg of ESS60. Olive oil makes up nearly all of the rest. There is no glucosamine, chondroitin, fish oil or added vitamin in the formula.
Does Mighty K9 contain glucosamine?
No. Mighty K9 contains no glucosamine or chondroitin. Its only joint-related ingredient is ESS60, a C60 molecule sold as an antioxidant. Reviews of dog studies rate glucosamine and chondroitin evidence as weak or negative, so the omission is not a flaw by itself.
Is Mighty K9 made with organic olive oil?
The front of the bottle says organic extra virgin olive oil, but the ingredient list does not repeat the word organic, and no certifier is shown on the label images we have. Ask the order desk if certified organic matters to you.
Is there real bacon in Mighty K9?
The label says bacon flavor and does not name its source. Pet-food rules let a product use a flavor name when a listed ingredient supplies that flavor. Call the order desk before buying if your dog has a pork or meat allergy.
How many calories are in Mighty K9?
Each 2 mL serving has 16.2 calories, and the oil has 8,100 kcal per kg. That is about 7% of resting needs for a 5 kg (11 lb) dog and 2.4% for a 20 kg (44 lb) dog. Count it with treats and toppers.
Is ESS60 an essential nutrient for dogs?
No. The label itself says ESS60 is not recognized as an essential nutrient by the AAFCO Dog Food Nutrient Profiles. Dogs do not need it the way they need protein, fat or vitamins. That is a nutrition fact, not a safety warning.
Is Mighty K9 good for dogs with allergies?
Its short list helps, since there are only three ingredients to check. The bacon flavor source is not listed, though, so dogs with meat allergies are a question mark. Ask your vet and the order desk before starting an allergic dog on it.
